Join, Clare and Christine as a guest of Riverside Cottage in a private or shared room. Bed and Breakfast, lunch and dinner served except for one night in the local pub, where we all pay our own way.
Arrive Friday morning in time for 4 days of ‘Drawing with the Brush’ an Indian Ink mark making course combining the discipline of brush technique with the expansiveness of wash. Learn how to use just one or two brushes in lots of different ways following demonstrated exercises from Christine’s new book. These are then combined with more explorative wash work using large brushes.
This structured course will encourage you to be bold as ink is permanent. Focused brush practice will open up a realm of spontaneity as the course progresses. Small exercises from natural forms build into more confident brush marks through experimentation. The alchemy of ink and paper gradually progress towards some completed compositions.
Using the days of practise you will finish with looking into nature along the River Dever for inspiration, and produce a finished art piece, for a small show and critique at the end of the 4 days.

She will be teaching during the day 10 am – 4 pm and will be using the studio for her own practice in the evenings. She is happy for anyone to be there with her but there will not be any tuition.
