Riverside has two separate properties located in rural Hampshire. Each rental accommodation has its own unique space whether manicured garden, rustic field or along side the river. Riverside is set beside the River Dever, with a country lane separating it from the 5 acre garden with swimming pool and fields – all are fully fenced and gated to ensure everyone’s safety.
Riverside operates as a working country setting so although rural and peaceful you will see deer, swans and other wildlife, hear farmers and gardeners at work, occasionally smell the joys of country living.
We also have yoga and art that take place by the river – parking is within Riverside Cottage
but this doesn’t overlook or disturb in anyway – in fact we hope you will join in.
The village of Barton Stacey is only 15 minute walk away – here you will find the local village post office and shop, along side The Swan Pub – there is also the historical Barton Stacey church.
Riverside a charming and much loved home is within easy reach of the historic City of Winchester with its excellent shopping and restaurants. Andover is along the A303 and of course Stone Henge is not far away. However, the Riverside setting is so pretty you may not want to leave at all.
Riverside Cottage
A beautiful thatched cottage which can sleep 8/10 people. The property has traditional old quirky beamed rooms and flag stone floors as well as the light contemporary conservatories and large family kitchen overlooking the large garden. It is a wonderful family home and lends itself well to inside / outside living.
Riverside Lodge
A modern open plan ‘chalet’ which sleeps 2/4 people. This is a small & cozy; has bi-folding doors on both sides, overlooking the lavender fields on one side and the pool on the other. The property has a wood burning stove and underfloor heating. There is one bedroom and a mezzanine floor.
The Lodge can be rented in conjunction with the Cottage for additional bed space.
On Arrival
On your arrival you will be met and shown around by Lillian our housekeeper.
If you have a grocery order we would prefer you to be in the rental before it is delivered.
We ask that you arrive between 5 – 6pm on the evening of your stay (unless agreed by prior arrangement) and that you depart by 10am in order to allow our change overs to work smoothly. We also ask that you leave the house as you have found it, with a discretionary cleaning fee of £100 left for the housekeeper at Riverside Cottage or £50 if you stay at the Lodge.
Riverside provides the best cotton linen as bedding and plenty of towels and bathroom accessories. You will be provided with our Riverside miniature lavender hand and shower wash, creams and soaps. It would help us enormously if you remove all bed linen from the beds and leave in a pile along with your towels. We have a no smoking policy inside and out of the cottages and lodge.
Dogs are allowed if well behaved and do not disturb other properties. We do charge an extra £25 per dog. Please confirm this at the time of booking. You are responsible for your own dog and its mess. Please clear up as you go along.
If you are arriving for a retreat the programme will be different and you should have received details – you will be met by Clare or Julia.
Flexible Catering
Riverside accommodation is self catering except where you have requested catering – such things as a morning breakfast box with papers, or arrival snacks, meal deliveries (frozen for the freezer or freshly prepared), an at home chef for a special occasion or as a permanent help during your stay, cocktail party or wedding planning. We need you to request your catering requirements at least three weeks before your stay.
Riverside is located within easy distance from all the major supermarkets and they will also deliver straight to the door.
